The Timaru Malayalee Association (TMA) is an organisation committed to supporting and promoting the interests of Malayalees—people from the Indian state of Kerala—who live beyond their home area. These organisations help to link Malayalee people and families, establishing a sense of belonging and cultural continuity overseas.
TMA often organizes events to celebrate traditional Kerala festivals such as Onam, Christmas and New year, as well as cultural events exhibiting Kerala music, dance, and food. They may provide Malayalam language instruction or workshops, as well as traditional arts and crafts, to assist younger generations connect with their history.
